He Loves Me Anyway
Is it not delightful to know that God loves you as you are and you don’t need to change a thing? God is love, and He shows us His love for us every day whether we know it or not. There is nothing that can stand in the way of Him loving you with all His heart. God’s love is unconditional, and is not affected by the circumstances in your life or how you behave. He loves you anyway!
Why do I believe that He loves me anyway? Because Romans 8:38-39 says so, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Believe in God’s Love
God’s love for us existed long before we came to this earth. His love for us is so great that He sent Jesus to die for our sins because we do not have what it takes to make atonement for our sins. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” He loved us while we were still sinners, and made a way for us to be reconciled to Him.
As much as God loves us, sometimes we fail to receive God’s love because we feel unworthy. Yet God has said it many times in His Word that He loves us with an everlasting love. The Bible is a love letter to every person on earth and when you read it, you will see God’s amazing love for you.
As you go about your day, take note of the little and big ways that God shows you He loves you. It could be the thank you note someone sent you or a gift you received from a long lost friend. Maybe it is a new client that God gave you, and this has boosted your business. Or, it could be favor that God gives you in a certain place to minister His Word.
If you struggle to identify the ways God loves you, ask Him to show you. You may be in a situation that makes you question God’s love for you but remember that your suffering has not taken away His love. Actually, it His love that will pull you out of your situation and give you a way out. He is the God who makes a way where there is none. “Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters” (Isaiah 43:16).
God Loves You Anyway
There is nothing you can do that can make God love you less. He is your Creator and takes great pleasure in you, He made you in His image and celebrates you each day. You may imagine that what you did last night, last week or last year will make God mad at you, but this is not true.
Think about the story of King David who messed up big time but God never stopped loving Him. David sinned against God by making another man’s wife pregnant and having him killed. He was attempting to cover up his sin and pretend that everything was okay. This was until the prophet Nathan came and confronted Him about His sin. David repented and God forgave Him.
In Acts 13:22 God had this to say about David, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.” This is the love of God in action. He loved a man who had disobeyed Him and had done the unthinkable. He loves you too, and wants you to know so that you can love others with His love.
You may have come to God wanting His forgiveness for something you keep doing and can’t seem to overcome. This can make you feel like you have failed God, but know that He still loves you and desires to have a relationship with you. God’s unfailing love makes you unshakable in the face of adversity.
God’s love for you is not based on your performance, and therefore don’t feel the need to perform for Him. He is not counting your sins and storing up the punishment for you because love does not keep a record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:5). God is forgiving, and when you come to Him in repentance, He forgives you and cleanses you from unrighteousness.
God does not love you because of who you are but because of who He is. God is love.
Sharing God’s Love With Others
God loves us and wants us to love others with the love of Christ. In John 15:12 Jesus tells us, “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” When we love others with God’s love, we can love them unconditionally. The way the world loves is conditional and depends on whether one deserves love or not. But God’s love can make us love even those we find hardest to love. Jesus loved Judas despite knowing that he would betray him in the end, and by doing that demonstrated to us how to love those we think are unlovable.
In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, God shows us what it means to love His way. Love is a choice and commitment we make to share the love of Christ with others despite how they behave toward us. The Holy Spirit produces the fruit of love in our lives, and we can love others the way God does (Galatians 5:22). This love bubbles up from our hearts into the lives of others.
You can share your love for others in many ways. You can do something nice for them or you can buy a beautiful gift for them. Ask God to show you the ways you can show His love to others so that they can experience Him through you.
